Jurassic World Growlers Velociraptor "Blue"

JW growler Raptor Blue

Raptor Blue was available in the first wave of toys, and definitely one of the better items that were available aside from Ankylosaurus. Blue rounds up my top 6th JW dinosaur toy by Hasbro.

It's nothing special. The fact that it's posed is an annoyance because it has a very slim footprint and it can barely stand up on its own. It always tips to one side or another. Pulling the tail down causes the hands to move up and down, and it gives off the new Jurassic World Velociraptor shriek, a shriek never before used in the movies. The colors are...eh. This isn't what it looks like in the movie. None of the raptors are colored properly. It's missing the stripe that makes her "Blue".

There it is...glowing, because apparently blood lights up somehow. This line...*sigh*

That's her compared with Titan Blue from the Exclusive Target 4 pack. Titan raptors are HUGE, because Raptor blue is only slightly smaller than a Snap Jaw Velociraptor from The Lost World.

That's Blue compared with Echo, her repaint from later waves. I'm not saying the mold sucks, no. It's just the entire aesthetic of this line is...it feels cheap. I remember on the first week, the first Blue I saw was already broken. Right now I have one in my store whose light up button is not working at all. Granted it's an used dinosaur, but it's pretty new and the rest of the dinosaurs that came with it, old dinosaurs from 1993 were in good shape. Why was blue the only broken one? Hasbro, please for the love of Hammond, get it together. Other than that, if you collect JW, this is the raptor you have to get. It's not a bad toy and roughly in scale with the older Jurassic Park Velociraptors, so it can easily cross over with the Kenner toys. That's the cool thing about Velociraptor in both Jurassic Park III and Jurassic World, their ability to cross over with the older toys. Very few toys in this line have this distinction. Dilophosaurus is in PERFECT scale with Kenner humans, perfect scale meaning that the real Dilophosaurus would reach that size during adulthood. Ceratosaurus is also in good scale with the Kenner AND JPIII Hasbro figures too. And I gotta say having a full Growler Raptor Squad is really fun. Pass on the Titans, get the Growlers, even if they come in ...pairs... where have I heard that before?
